Saint-Gobain has launched a groundbreaking Norton Bear-Tex corundum surface treatment material that delivers long-lasting performance and superior efficiency. This innovative product is part of the Norton Corundum Cloth Abrasives line, developed by combining high-quality, highly abrasive corundum grains with ultra-durable nylon gauze. These abrasives are then bonded to high-strength, low-stretch polyester substrates using advanced clean resin technology, ensuring a precise and contamination-free grinding and polishing process.
Designed specifically for abrasive belt applications, this new material offers exceptional machine strength while requiring minimal tensile resistance from the belt itself. Its long life and high-performance characteristics make it ideal for demanding industries such as aerospace, metal fabrication, and maintenance and repair, where tasks like material blending and deburring are critical.

This makes the new Norton product a reliable choice for a wide range of industrial applications.
Available in coarse, medium, fine, and ultra-fine grades, the Norton corundum abrasives are particularly popular for use on stents and portable belts. They include 50-inch wide belts for large-scale belt manufacturing and sanding applications for pump sleeves. A fast-prepared corundum belt cotton and linen baseline has also been introduced, complementing existing cotton-based production lines and offering greater flexibility for manufacturers.
