International advanced tool technology seminar will be held in Tsinghua

China is undergoing a significant transformation from a manufacturing giant to a global manufacturing leader. With the world's largest market and tremendous growth potential in industries such as automotive, machine tools, and more, the country is witnessing rapid development in sectors like large aircraft, high-speed rail, rail transit, and shipbuilding. However, despite the use of advanced machine tools, the overall level of manufacturing processes and technologies remains relatively outdated. This gap significantly hinders China’s economic growth and its journey toward becoming a true global manufacturing powerhouse. To address this challenge, the "Advanced Technology and Tool Technology Seminar" was held four times between 2009 and 2012, each time drawing increasing attention. The events, held in November 2009, July 2010, August 2011, and July 2012, brought together professionals from domestic and international associations, universities, machine tool manufacturers, end-users, and media representatives. Attendance numbers rose steadily, reaching 250, 350, 400, and 300 participants respectively, showing growing interest in the field. Building on the success of these early seminars, the 2013 International Advanced Manufacturing Process and Tool Technology Seminar will take place from October 26 to 29, 2013, at Tsinghua University, one of China's most prestigious academic institutions. Organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tsinghua University and the Institute of Advanced Technology and Tool Technology at Shanghai University, the event aims to bring together leading experts and scholars from both within and outside China to share insights and discuss the latest advancements in manufacturing processes and tooling technology. The seminar is co-organized by several key institutions, including the School of Mechanical and Electronic Control Engineering at Beijing Jiaotong University, the Institute of Superhard Tool Materials at China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), the Henan Province Mechanical Engineering Society, the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Professional Committee of the Shanghai Machinery Engineering Society, the Advanced Technology Research Branch of the China Knife Association, the Modern Processing Technology Professional Committee, and the Taizhou Machine Tool Industry Association. As a supporting media partner, China Machine Tool Business Network will provide comprehensive coverage of the event. With the momentum and professionalism established in previous years, the 2013 International Advanced Manufacturing Process and Tool Technology Seminar is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future of China’s manufacturing industry. It will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and collaboration, helping to drive the nation forward on its path to becoming a true global manufacturing leader.
