Abstract The China Optical Expo, which first took place in Shenzhen in 1999, has evolved into the world's largest event in the optoelectronics and optical industry. This year’s exhibition is expected to feature over 3,200 exhibitors spread across 110,000 square meters of exhibition space, marking a 10% increase compared to last year. The event is composed of four specialized exhibitions: the Optical Communication Exhibition, Laser and Infrared Exhibition, Precision Optics Exhibition, and the LED Technology and Application Exhibition. It serves as a key platform for global suppliers and buyers to showcase cutting-edge innovations and technologies. With more than 3,200 leading domestic and international optoelectronic companies participating, the fair highlights the latest advancements in the field. According to preliminary data from the organizing committee, nearly 300 new technologies and products will be unveiled at this year’s event, underscoring its role as a trendsetter in the global optoelectronics industry.

At this year’s fair, LED displays have captured widespread attention. With the global LED display market surpassing $100 billion, more companies are investing heavily in R&D and expansion within this sector. In Hall 2, the LED Technology and Application Exhibition featured Ruituo Display’s debut of a 300-inch high-precision LED TV. Designed with a nostalgic TV aesthetic, the device represents a significant leap in display technology. According to Shi Yaozhong, the company’s representative, the TV offers high brightness, excellent color accuracy, fast refresh rates, multi-screen synchronization, and seamless stitching—features that set it apart from previous models. Industry observers noted that the 300-inch screen resembles a movie theater screen or an outdoor digital billboard. When tested on-site, the image quality was praised for its clarity and brilliance, proving the technological superiority of this innovation.
In Hall 1, the Laser and Infrared Exhibition offered an intriguing experience for attendees. A reporter tried out an infrared camera, which can be transformed using smart phone apps or software. Even in complete darkness, the camera captures heat radiation from objects and displays it on the screen. Users can also view, store, and analyze these images. According to the booth staff, infrared cameras are highly effective in security applications, offering a powerful tool for surveillance and monitoring in low-light conditions.
Yang Xiancheng, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of the China Optical Expo, emphasized that the event serves as a crucial platform for optoelectronics technology exchange. Over the years, it has witnessed the remarkable growth of China’s optoelectronics industry—from modest beginnings to global recognition. This year’s fair promises to be even more exciting, with a wide range of groundbreaking technologies and products on display. These innovations are expected to shape the future direction of the global optoelectronics industry, making the China Optical Expo a must-attend event for professionals and enthusiasts alike.
