It can be seen that the export of the lock industry in 2008 reached a new peak. However, in 2009, due to the impact of the global financial crisis, the export of lock products also showed a certain degree of decline. In 2009, the export of locks was 2.995 billion US dollars, down 16.6% year-on-year. In 2010, with the improvement of the foreign financial situation, the export of locks reached US$4.003 billion, which not only returned to the level of exports before the crisis, but also increased. In the first half of 2011, the export value of locks was US$2.082 billion, up 15.9% year-on-year. According to this calculation, the annual export volume is expected to exceed the overall level of the previous year. In just five years, the export value of lock products has increased from US$1.516 billion to more than US$4 billion, and it still maintains a high-speed growth momentum. We have reason to have high confidence in the future development of the industry, and the development space of the lock market is still huge. However, due to the lack of brands and channels, domestic companies only make orders for delivery, who do not know when to sell the products, how much to sell, do not know, and do not know where to sell. Failure to understand end market demand leads to passive production and low efficiency. So we have to change this drawback. In terms of imports, the import of lock products from 2006 to 2008 reached 321 million US dollars, 340 million US dollars, and 393 million US dollars respectively, with growth rates of 34.9%, 5.92% and 15.6% respectively. In 2009, lock imports were also hit by the financial crisis, with imports of US$369 million, down 6.1% year-on-year. In 2010, the import value of locks reached US$504 million, an increase of 36.6%. In the first half of 2011, the import of locks was US$273 million, an increase of 16.2% year-on-year. It is estimated that the annual import volume will reach US$550 million. The speed of imports is increasing, indicating that there are more and more foreign products in China's high-end market. It also shows that domestic products cannot enter the domestic high-end market because there is no brand.
Not only the lock industry, the entire hardware industry is currently facing the following major problems:
The development mode is extensive, the process is backward, the product capacity is seriously over-resourced, the low-end products are many, the medium-to-high-end products are few, the product quality is unstable, and there is still a certain gap with the developed countries. It lacks high standards, high efficiency, lack of core technology and independent intellectual property rights, and lacks. World-renowned brands, in short, lack core competence and international market leading capabilities.
The scale of the enterprise is small, the enterprise structure is irrational, the product structure is unreasonable, and the leading role and exemplary role of the enterprise are not fully exerted. The product structure needs to be adjusted. The technical content, processing technology and product price of the padlock are not high, and the product line should be enriched to produce high value-added lock products.
In response to these problems, the China Hardware Products Association proposed the following work priorities in 2012:
First, focus on product quality and increase the intensity of technological transformation. Good product quality must rely on advanced equipment, which is a necessary condition to ensure product quality;

This year, the lock industry will also carry out the evaluation of the “Ten Lock King†in the lock industry, promote the visibility of enterprises and industries, and lay a foundation for the construction of our brand and the construction of channels, with the aim of improving their visibility;

Fourth, increase the support for industrial clusters. Through the development of industrial clusters, our industry will be developed, and the development of our industry will be promoted by increasing the internal connotation of industrial clusters so that all of you can benefit from the development of industrial clusters;
Fifth, build a sales platform, expand the domestic and international markets, and walk on two legs to balance development.
