Spherical roller bearings are designed with a unique structure that allows them to handle heavy loads and misalignment. It can handle radial loads, bidirectional axial loads, and large combined loads, making it ideal for low- to medium-speed applications with heavy and shock loads. Tapered roller bearings, on the other hand, are designed to handle both radial and axial loads simultaneously. Their load-carrying capacity depends on the contact angle of the raceway. A larger contact angle means greater load capacity. These bearings are available in single-row, double-row, and four-row configurations, depending on the number of rolling elements. Single-row tapered roller bearings require adjustment during installation, while double-row and four-row versions come pre-adjusted from the factory, eliminating the need for user intervention. Tapered roller bearings are widely used in various industries, including automotive, rolling mills, mining, and metallurgy. Their design makes them especially suitable for applications where precise alignment and high load capacity are essential.
