(1) When installing a bearing, the surface condition of the shaft and housing is critical. A smoother surface finish improves the shape accuracy and bearing performance, leading to higher rigidity. Using high-hardness components with minimal roughness and carefully pressing them into the housing with proper interference can significantly enhance support stiffness. In some cases, using a retaining ring on the shaft neck can also help achieve similar results. (2) Applying pre-tensioning techniques is an effective way to increase bearing rigidity. For ball bearings or tapered roller bearings, axial pre-tensioning is suitable, while radial pre-tensioning is more appropriate for short cylindrical roller bearings. This method helps eliminate clearance or even create a slight negative clearance, which enhances rigidity. However, it's important to ensure that the speed and temperature rise remain within acceptable limits. The optimal condition is a small negative clearance. During preloading, continuous monitoring of deformation is necessary. Initially, deformation should be linear with the applied load. Once this relationship stabilizes, the preloading should be stopped to avoid over-stressing the bearing. At this point, the bearing achieves a stable stiffness level. The axial and radial stiffness becomes independent of the applied load, making it easier to measure by placing a dial gauge against the bearing end face or the shaft. Preloading has its drawbacks, such as increased friction torque, potential temperature rise, and reduced bearing life. Therefore, it’s essential to find a balance and choose the right amount of preloading based on the application requirements. (3) The installation method of the bearing greatly affects its rigidity. For radial thrust bearings, when used in pairs, the larger end face of the outer ring should be pressed outward. This configuration increases the bearing's resistance to overturning moments and reduces the need for frequent adjustments due to thermal expansion. (4) In axial orientation applications, using multiple bearings for support can significantly improve rigidity. By using two or more bearings as radial supports, the system becomes more stable. This approach is commonly used in machine tool spindles, where axial preloading devices and multiple sets of radial thrust bearings are employed at the same fulcrum to ensure precision and stability.

Gauge Adaptor

A hydraulic gauge adaptor is a device used to connect a hydraulic gauge to a hydraulic system. It is typically a small, threaded component that acts as an interface between the gauge and the hydraulic system.
The adaptor is designed to fit into the hydraulic system's pressure port or test point, allowing the gauge to be securely attached. It ensures a tight seal to prevent any leakage or loss of pressure during testing or monitoring.
Hydraulic gauge adaptors come in various sizes and configurations to accommodate different types of hydraulic systems and gauges. They are often made of durable materials such as stainless steel or brass to withstand the high pressures and harsh conditions commonly found in hydraulic systems.
Overall, a hydraulic gauge adaptor is an essential tool for accurately measuring and monitoring hydraulic pressure in various applications, such as industrial machinery, automotive systems, and hydraulic equipment.
