The timely picking of flowers during the maintenance and management of lily plants can reduce the consumption of nutrients by the plants, and promote the rapid expansion of the underground bulbs, thereby increasing the yield.
However, the flower picking period should be appropriate, the flower picking is too early, the bulbs are not shaped, affecting the yield ; the flower picking too late, the flowers consume too much nutrients, affecting the quality of the bulb. According to the production experience, the appropriate time for lily flower picking is: when the flower bud is enlarged but not opened, it is turned from upright to low, and when the color of the flower bud turns from full green to sunny side, it can be removed. At the time of picking, only the flower buds are picked and the leaves are not moved. The flower buds that have been removed should be shipped out of the ground. Do not throw them on the ground to prevent the spread of germs.
The maintenance management of lily after flower picking is also an important part of increasing production. Therefore, after picking flowers, you must do the following three things:
1 , timely irrigation
After the lily is picked, the temperature rises and the weather is hot. In case of drought, it is necessary to water the drought in time. The method is: choose the morning and evening when the weather is slightly cool, the whole field is filled with water, and when the surface is wet, the water is discharged. This method can effectively protect the water needs of the late growth of the lily.
2 , topdressing fertilizer
Lily is a fertilizer-tolerant crop. The base fertilizer to the flowering period has been basically absorbed. Therefore, after picking the flowers, the fertilizer should be applied in time to supplement the nutrients needed for plant growth and development, and ensure that the bulbs continue to expand and grow. The applied fertilizer should be mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, supplemented by nitrogen fertilizer. For example, 25kg of superphosphate and 1000kg of compost or 15kg of potassium sulfate can be applied per acre . Time can be chosen in the morning or evening, avoid fertilizing at high temperatures at noon. Care should be taken when applying fertilizers. Do not bruise or trample lily plants.
3 , prevention and control of pests and diseases
Lily is in the high temperature season after picking flowers, it is easy to induce pests and diseases, mainly leaf spot and aphids. In the early stage of leaf spot disease, the leaves showed round brown lesions, which turned dark black. In severe cases, the leaves died and the stems became thin to fall.
The disease can be 1: 1: 100 Bordeaux mixture or 65% zineb 500 times spray stem to control them once every 7 days, and even spray 3 to 4 times. The mites will suck the juice of the stems and leaves, causing the plants to dry, affecting growth and infecting diseases. The control method can be sprayed with 40% dimethoate 1000 times liquid.
