Ningbo Ninghe Power Motorcycle Parts Co., Ltd. recently shipped 5,000 inner pan head triangles to its customers, which will be installed on the engine casing of FAW-Volkswagen vehicles. This specific part is designed to be tightened in only one direction and cannot be loosened once fastened. In China, only two companies are capable of producing this component, highlighting the high level of precision required. Liu Pingping, manager of the procurement and sales department, mentioned that their fasteners are now integrated into core engine components of well-known automotive brands.
Established in 2010, the company is located in the Beilun Chunxiao Ecological Industrial Park and operates as a Sino-foreign joint venture. Specializing in the production of automotive fasteners, the firm generates annual sales of around 30 million yuan, with major clients including FAW-Volkswagen and Audi. Their reputation for quality has helped them secure long-term contracts in the highly competitive automotive industry.
In the broader manufacturing sector, a certain level of product defects is often acceptable. However, in the automotive parts industry, especially for critical components, zero defects are non-negotiable. Liu Pingping explained that during car assembly, fasteners are installed automatically by robotic arms. These robots follow precise computer settings, and if a fastener’s dimensions are even slightly off, the robot will not be able to grasp it, causing the entire production line to halt. Such downtime can be extremely costly—up to 2,000 Euros for just five minutes of lost time at some premium OEMs. To avoid such risks, the company conducts both manual inspections and uses advanced imaging systems to check every single part before shipment. Despite the high pressure, the profit margin on these specialized fasteners is higher than standard ones, and the order flow is stable. According to Liu, success ultimately depends on strong internal management and attention to detail.
Another key factor in the performance of automotive fasteners is their ability to prevent leaks, particularly in critical engine areas. Last year, Ninghe Power developed an oil plug bolt with an additional layer of adhesive, ensuring a tighter seal between the bolt and the engine housing. This design enhances heat resistance and prevents shrinkage during engine operation or shutdown, reducing the risk of oil leakage. The improved bolt has already been adopted by Shanghai General Motors in several of its vehicle models, further proving the company's commitment to innovation and quality.
