Japanese company Ohki suspends production of aluminum extrusions

On Thursday, the Japanese brass manufacturer Ohki Copper/BRASS said in a statement that due to weakening demand, the company will suspend production of aluminum extrusions. Ohki's aluminum production line at the Niiza plant near Tokyo will stop operations on December 28. According to the statement, the company currently produces 30-40 tons of aluminum pressurised products per month. These products are mainly supplied to the local power department and home improvement materials department. The statement said that in the past few years due to the gradual decline in sales of aluminum extrusion products, the company was forced to reduce the operating time of the aluminum production line. Ohki mainly uses 6063 and other specifications of aluminum alloy ingots to produce extruded products. Its raw materials are mainly from the local aluminum rolling company - Nippon Light Metal. Ohki plans to concentrate on brass products after the suspension of aluminum production.
