SunPower bets high-efficiency low-concentration photovoltaic

SunPower is currently implementing a dual strategy: to create manufacturing capabilities in both high-efficiency cells and components and low-concentration photovoltaic (LCPV) in order to bring about diversity changes. The company announced that it will build Fab 5 in the Philippines next year - an LCPV plant that is expected to be completed in 2017. It plans to double production capacity in the next five years.

The company recently announced that its guidance revenue for 2015 was between US$2.4 billion and US$2.6 billion, and its gross profit margin is expected to be 21%-26%. Capital expenditures are expected to be in the range of 3-3.5 billion U.S. dollars, nearly doubling from 2014. In the “next months”, the company will build a new 1 GW C7 LCPV technology production facility in the Philippines to supply the 2 GW project to be built in China for the next five to seven years.

CEO Tom Werner stated that his LCPV product pursues capital efficiency, and the company hopes to increase from the current five times to ten times.

SunPower has deployed C7 LCPV technology in the United States and China. It is building LCPV plants in Sichuan and Inner Mongolia, and has completed a 7 MW project in Arizona and is currently installing a 20 MW project in Nevada.

The company is also pursuing high-efficiency solar cell and component technology, and plans to introduce a production line with 25% efficient batteries and 23% efficient components.

In the residential sector, the company acquired SolarBridge Technologies, a micro-inverter company, as part of its differentiation strategy. The plan is to transform from a high-efficiency component supplier to a system provider for residential users, and the key is energy management, storage and software. Werner said that the company will maintain its competitive advantage through heavy investment.

InVent PS 10 â€“ a series of Monodisperse Reversed Phased Polymeric Resin designed for the polishing purification and separation for pharmaceuticals and natural products. These resins are made from highly cross-linked polymers of styrene and divinylbenzen, has an excellent pH stability over a wide range of pH 1-14; especially shows outstanding stability in extremely acidicor alkaline solutions (such as 1mol/L HCl\NaOH) and organic solvents ( such as methanol, ethanol, acetone, n-propanol, isopropanol, DMSO, THF, acetonitrile, 6 M guanidine hydrochloride, etc.)

By the benefits of its good performance and superior chemical and pH stability, InVent PS 10 is widely used in the high-class drink, purification for pharmaceuticals and so on.
