For example, on Taobao, there were more than 200 Taobao stores selling “American Angus Beef†suspended from import, and sales were even more numerous.
These smuggled frozen meats have not passed the inspection and quarantine. They belong to three non-products and may contain a disease virus. While increasing the reality of cracking down on smuggling, how to cut down on online sales of smuggled beef is a new challenge for regulators. It is also a difficult problem to be solved in front of them.
The crime of smuggling beef and other food smuggling crimes not only damages the state's tax revenue, but also jeopardizes public health and endangers the environment. Regarding the crackdown on smuggling, the relevant departments have done very little. Some smuggling cases have been seized, and a group of people involved have been severely punished. In many cases, online sales of smuggled foods are difficult to draw attention because of the small turnover. Therefore, while increasing the intensity of cracking down on smuggling, the relevant departments must also focus their attention on the Internet, establish a sound monitoring system, conduct close monitoring of the smuggling and sale of smuggled food, and maintain a high-pressure situation, and find sales of smuggled foods. In accordance with the "top grid" punishment, the behavior of the Internet sells the chain of interests of smuggled food.
