This integrated system has the following characteristics:

(1) Each unit is unified in the form of application system package. The integrated platform wall panel, cam component CAD application system, Chuangcheng CAPP system and CAM system are all packaged under IMAN in the form of Dataset, which ensures the uniformity of the user interface. Unified management of all processes related to design and manufacturing, thus achieving integration at the software layer.

(2) The method of combining the file and the shared database is adopted in the integration method. In the CIMS, the CAD application system of the wall panel and the cam component is output as a special format file, which makes the integrated interface of CAD/CAPP and CAD/CAM. The method of using a special format file is mainly used. The integrated interface of CAPP/CAM is mainly based on shared database.

(3) Part feature information modeling using STEP standard The part feature information model of the system is strictly in accordance with the STEP standard, and the conversion and mapping between features are also performed according to the STEP method.

(4) Data file storage is unified, easy to access CAD, CAPP, CAM system All data files are stored under IMANVolume and managed by IMAN. This not only ensures the convenience of file reading, but also makes the file have a protection mechanism and cannot be modified freely outside IMAN.

4. Establishment of integrated interface information model

The CAD/CAPP/CAM integrated interface information is in the STEP description language EXPRESS. In EXPRESS, entities are defined by attributes. These attributes can be simple data types (such as integers) or another entity type.

In order to link the feature files output by CAD and the feature objects required by CAPP, the CAD/CAPP/CAM integrated interface system in the implemented CIMS divides the entities into three categories, namely size entities, geometric element entities and processing entities.
