Thrust tapered roller bearings are designed with conical rollers that allow for pure rolling motion due to the alignment of the roller's contact surface with the raceway. This design enables a higher limiting speed compared to thrust cylindrical roller bearings. These bearings can only handle unidirectional axial loads. They are typically denoted by the code 90000. However, due to their limited load capacity, most manufacturers produce non-standard sizes. Standardized versions are rare, and there is no universal national standard for their dimensions.
2. **Thrust Angular Contact Ball Bearings: Layout and Features**
These bearings have an angular contact of 60° and are commonly used as two-way thrust bearings. Originally designed for precision machine tool spindles, they are often paired with double-row cylindrical roller bearings. They can support bidirectional axial loads, offer high precision, good rigidity, low heat generation, and high-speed performance. Their ease of assembly and disassembly makes them popular in demanding applications.
3. **Double-Row Tapered Roller Bearings: Layout and Features**
This type of bearing features a complex design, with the most common being the 35000 series. It includes a double-raceway outer ring and two inner rings, with a spacer between them that allows adjustment of the internal clearance. These bearings can handle both radial and bi-directional axial loads, and they help control the axial movement of the shaft or housing within the bearing’s clearance range.
4. **Tapered Roller Bearings: Layout and Features**
Tapered roller bearings are designated as type 30,000. They are separable bearings and are universally interchangeable according to GB/T 307.1-94 standards. The outer ring and inner components are standardized globally, making them highly compatible across different manufacturers. These bearings are primarily used to handle combined radial and axial loads, offering greater load capacity than angular contact ball bearings but with lower limit speeds. They can also constrain axial displacement in one direction.
5. **Deep Groove Ball Bearings: Layout and Features**
In deep groove ball bearings, each raceway has a continuous groove that covers approximately one-third of the ball’s equator. These bearings are mainly used to support radial loads and can also handle some axial loads. When the radial clearance increases, they behave similarly to angular contact ball bearings, allowing for bidirectional axial loading. Compared to other bearings of the same size, they have a lower friction coefficient. Their simple structure, ease of use, and wide application make them the most commonly produced and used type of bearing.
