Dutch DTC joins thermoplastic composites research center

DTC, a manufacturer of thermoplastic composites in the Netherlands, reported that it had joined the Dutch thermoplastic composite research center (TPRC). The center was established in 2009 by the United States Boeing Co., Ltd., together with the Ford Company of the Netherlands, Tenkat Company and Twente University. In 2011, it added the American Instron Company, the French Pinetle Company and the Italian Italmatic Company. The three companies provide production and test equipment to the center, and these devices are further developed at TPRC.

DTC is a manufacturer of thermoplastic composite devices for the aerospace market. It will bring its knowledge and network to the center. The Managing Director of DTC said: "With TPRC, we have the opportunity to develop new products faster and ensure that we become one of the leading research institutions in this field."

Thermoplastic composites have a potential for applications in the aerospace, automotive, wind energy, marine and construction markets.
